Lil bit of a shameless plug here for a special project I just finished up :)
Reading and writing go hand in hand I like to think. So while I usually dedicate my post to the latest read or author I've been loving, I wanted to share a bit of a longer "musing" today dedicated to some of my writing: "Teachings From Tlatilco."
I published this poetry book back in 2019, for 99 cents on Amazon. It was riddled with formatting errors and spelling mistakes. It did not reflect the work and heart that had gone into the poems it contained. So one of my goals for late 2020/early 2021 was to get it redone and do it right.
If you haven't already guessed it: I like books. And ever the stereotypical book lover, technology and all things digital are not my cup of tea. But with some patience, research, and a whole lotta luck, I am happy to announce that "Teachings From Tlatilco" is up and ready to read! I've attached the book blurb and link below :)
Book Blurb (as seen on Amazon):
Inspired by the haunting Tlatilco figurines of early Latin American culture, Stewart weaves in coming-of-age topics such as conformity, growing up, and love, creating a collection of poems that require as much reflection as the figurines themselves deserve. This compilation of poetry breathes new life into art that is thousands of years old, providing a modern twist on these already infamous statuettes. Teachings From Tlatilco combines the beauty of art with the inspiration one finds within as a prime example of the depth and meaning ekphrastic responses can provide.
